What

The Active Sole sells Shoes That Fit Park City. Simply put, that means we carefully select our line each season to offer items that look great, accentuate the Park City lifestyle and above all, are comfortable.

The Park City lifestyle means different things to different people. To us, it is a combination of a few basic elements:


  • Hip- familiar with or informed about the latest ideas, styles, developments, etc.
  • Stylish- characterized by style or the fashionable standard; fashionably elegant; smart or chic
  • Laid-back- free from stress; easygoing; carefree
  • Comfortable- a state of physical or mental comfort; contented; at ease
  • Active- engaged in action; characterized by energetic work, participation, etc.

Where

We love our town and the people who make Park City so special. We are thankful for the opportunity to work where we live and play.

In addition to the beautiful setting and unparalleled year-round recreation, Park City has the nicest people.

In an age where more and more towns and cities have the same hotels, restaurants and shops, Parkites prefer local alternatives to large national chains, adding an element of unique charm.

Our customers are treated as friends - you are welcome to browse at your leisure, without any pressure.

We designed our store to be inviting, cozy and comfortable. We want you to buy shoes, but more importantly we want you to enjoy your visit, even if you are just looking.

We also want to know what you think- if you do not see what you are looking for, tell us! If we do not have a color, size or style we are happy to order it for you. If you would like us to carry a new brand, speak up!

When

The Active Sole opened December 2006 at the Redstone Shopping Center in Park City, UT. We hope to be here for a long time!



Green

At The Active Sole we love Earth- the only planet nearby.

We try very hard to be earth-friendly and carbon-neutral. We carry a number of environmentally conscious brands including Patagonia, Teva, Chaco, Earth, El Natura Lista and Pikolinos.

We tried energy-efficient flourescent lighting, but it really did not meet our needs. In order to offset the less efficient lighting, we purchased blocks of wind power through the Rocky Mountain Power Blue Sky program.

In addition to recycling the materials used in our daily operations, The Active Sole has developed a Pre-cycling program:

Upon checkout, every customer is asked if they would like us to recycle their shoe boxes. Ninety percent of our customers take us up on this offer, reducing waste that would otherwise make its way to the landfill.
